...And as I've pointed out many times now whatever rotten right wing legislation you find in the EU, look behind it and you will find the UK gov (Tory or Labour) as one of its biggest supporters or indeed as originator. This may be so, although it would be good to have comprehensive fact-checking to confirm, something we probably haven't got the time for on this board. In a way it is irrelevent who was the chief instigator in this legislative process. My main focus is on the fact that plethora of EU 'financial' decisions are finally made by an unelected cabal. This is the same cabal that met up with Yanis Varoufakis behind closed doors, where he was told in no uncertain terms, which way the wind blows. We all know the outcome of that. *That* is the rotten heart of the EU. Forgive me, but the rest is just rhetoric. As I've mentioned before, there is no mechanism to balance out the smaller economic blocks/nations etc. with Germany and to a lesser extent France. That is the second problem. The third problem is the fact that the balancing that should be available to each nation state to create deficit is not available because of the single currency. Not the problem for the UK but certainly to the rest of the EU nations. Even though I voted leave, I can accomodate the idea of staying in the Customs Union, but definitely not in the Single Market. Not sure to what extent this corresponds with the Nowegian model. Yanis' DIEM25 idea to stay in the Single Market and reform it sounds utopian to my ears. Whatever rights and wrongs of each option, we probably don't have these choices and all these are after all likely to get screwed up by Tory numpties and Westmonster. My tuppence ... Cheers NB. Sorry for the late reply, I had an argument with my computer gremlins : ).
