it would be good to have comprehensive fact-checking to confirm Well if you ever get round to it you can likewise check the obstruction and opposition by the UK gov (again Tory and Labour) to any EU legislation that hinted of anything with collective benefits or otherwise suspiciously leftish sounding. I think one of the problems with Lexiteers is that they completely forget the huge influence that the UK gov has made on EU decision making: especially on decisions they dont like. EU 'financial' decisions are finally made by an unelected cabal. The Bank of England's 'financial' decisions: i.e UK monetary policy essentially is made by an "unelected cabal": Gordon Brown made it so. The second house of your Parliament involved in making all UK law is an utterly unelected cabal...I don't know why you think that's a better option. As to reform of this, Labour has had a hundred years to get rid of the unelected Lords. As I've mentioned before, there is no mechanism to balance out the smaller economic blocks/nations etc. with Germany and to a lesser extent France. That is the second problem. Thats not an EU problem: its a Euro issue & we aren't even in the Eurozone. ...Not the problem for the UK but certainly to the rest of the EU nations. Exactly. The solution to the UK's non-existent problem here is just not to join the Euro, much as the Greek solution should have been to bail out. Even though I voted leave, I can accomodate the idea of staying in the Customs Union, but definitely not in the Single Market Not sure why you think thats of benefit considering it doesnt cover "non-tariff barriers"which can impact dramatically on services which are near 80% of British economy. Studies found the non-tariff costs on all goods between the EU and the US, for example, was around 13-14%: much more than a tariff itself. Brexit could reduce the UK’s services exports by anywhere between 6-13%. http://ukandeu.ac.uk/the-brexit-white-paper-what-it-must-address-trade-regulation-and-non-tariff-barriers/ Not sure to what extent this corresponds with the Nowegian model. Norway has full access to the single market as the rest of EFTA aside from Switzerland .
