as anything can be, by then, I think. Though I too in my youth espoused the ego-soothing idea that I and people like me weren't the problem in the world, because we strove to be good decent people. It was those psychopathic sods over there (us projecting frantically as we pointed the finger at them) who were the repositories of all evil. If we could just overthrow them once and for all and take away their WealthPowerStatus, the era of universal goodness and light would begin... Well, maybe sometime, but only after we've resolved this - frequently unacknowledged - glitch in ourselves; all of ourselves. Meditation on the personal ego - which as you may know the buddhists assert is a delusion that bars our realisation of the true nature of things - helps to lure insight to dawn in our understanding. Not much point in talking about it a lot beyond this. As experienced meditators aver, all this dawns steadily, through sustained practice. And aging...
