A prison doctor wouldn't be adequate for a the potentially wide range of medical ailments and needs of someone who has had no treatment for years. He also should have access to lawyers. Family too obviously, but I don't know what the legal position is. This would be no way to treat a violent criminal let alone someone on a trumped-up password charge from another country. It sounds like the treatment he would expect in the US has already started. Even in supposedly advanced political systems, it seems that rights are still regarded as as inconvenience that can be finessed. |
