I think some of the popular uprising can take place under the noses of TPTB. If a moment arises where the technical power shift can take place there would need to be a groundswell of accessible or potential grassroots support willing to rear up and to ensure its survival. We've seen a kind of mini run of this scenario with the Corbyn phenomenon, where there is or has been at least a chance of tipping the scales. I'm not sure it's true that that every climbdown shows weakness or right-drift; at the embryonic stage, battles must be fought when there is a chance of winning them. The other thing is the weakening of the hold of the mainstream media; even though Trump was the beneficiary this time, he may have set a useful precedent. That's the view from nowhere...Cheers Rhis!
