I can't stand the BBC when it comes to news/current affairs/politics and have been fairly nauseated by the recent adulation of Maitlis and her recent book in all the usual places. It's almost like a routine: be a good little propagandist for so many years, then we'll puff your self-aggrandising book up so you can rake in a few more quid. I agree with you on the BBC (and quite a few other sources these days); they really don't seem to care that their bias is obvious and their famous "balance" seems to have gone out of the window long ago. Speaking of the BBC, I caught up with some old friends yesterday for a day of pub crawling and we got on to the subject of the BBC and I was suddenly (sadly) reminded how few people read the kind of information that gets posted here. They were all arguing as if the BBC was super-left wing and looked at me like I was insane for suggesting otherwise. It got a bit heated at times but it was disappointing for me to see people I care about so badly informed and I guess it illustrates how ingrained the myths about the beeb are and how well the MSM indoctrination works.
