Keith, I still think your attitude to Corbyn, as displayed over some time, is destructive rather than helpful. However, I would have to admit that my defence of Corbyn is something of giving the man the benefit of the doubt. I too have been very disappointed by Corbyn's (and his Labour party) oblivious attitude to Assange's appalling treatment over many years. Ultimately my defence of Corbyn comes about because I see nothing better in the political sphere. He is and always has been a sane and moral mane, there aren't many like this in politics now. Have any people contributing to these pages written to Corbyn? (I would suggest an old fashioned letter posted to him as this shows a better commitment) to ask him why his support for Assange is so muted, and why for instance he said nothing about Assange at the NUJ meeting posted further down? Let's all write a polite and non threatening letter pointing all this out, and asking him to be more vociferous in his concern for Assange, and why he hasn't been in the past?
I am going to compose a letter now, but as I live in NZ I will e-mail it. Everyone else who lives in the UK, including Keith, if he or she can do so politely, should write such a letter.
