Not something I take special pleasure in at all, in fact it's not easy to kill a goat you've fussed over - but that is the way we fit ourselves into the ecosystem in a sustainable way. So many people keep a few goats that just get old and die, or go feral and end up getting rounded up and sent in bags to Asia. Young Lupin is now safely in the freezer, while his skin starts the journey towards some soft kid gloves... And then there's the milk, and the cheese... the raison d'etre for mother Violet.
