Yes I do brooks. Because a) they truly believe in what they think of as "free speech" and b) they don't actually believe that Julian Assange is a proper journalist, and he's such a freak (and rapist) he probably deserves what's coming to him anyway. In recent days I've been numbed by an email interchange with a writer and editor of a professional journal who when I asked if this body supported Julian Assange he replied that the issues concerning Assange were "complicated" [ie, he wouldn't commit himself or offer an opinion] and that he didn't know enough about the case against Assange to make an judgement. I was, to put it simply. gobsmacked. Here's a person who earns his living as a professional writer who admits he hasn't kept up with the Assange case sufficiently to form an opinion, and who uses the stale cop-out "it's complicated" to avoid making a decision. So yes, to answer your question, there are a lot of people out there who would stand up the mic and do what 'Unt has done.
