Just a thought.
Grabbing a diplomatic asylee is kinda unprecedented & totalitarian otherwise. To my knowledge the USSR never did it for example.
In the end they had Moreno on-side, but just wondered if a shift in sexual politics was also a considered by the agency to be a necessary pilar in this.
#MeToo kinda came from nowhere like a relentless whirlwind, and seems to have now disappeared into nowhere, clearing out a few rather mild liberals for sport (Garrison Keillor, Al Franken) and possibly some unintended victims.
This is a thought that would have been difficult to post before now, and it is not really a comment on #MeToo per se.
