Don't get me wrong, these are just words said in jest, I understand this. But whatever you think of Farage, he doesn't actually deserve having acid thrown in his face. The reference to him was unstated, but unmissable. And all of us can say stupid things at times. It's just that, for the moment, this is a joke too far. A bit further over the edge, to quote Tom Waker, than justifiable. Jo wouldn't be directly responsible for anyone throwing anything toxic or damaging at anyone, I understand this too. But do you truly think anyone would be happy to see Farage or Robinson seriously injured this way? You suggest some "Guardianistas" might be? That's pretty horrible and wouldn't that actually be a reason to be more, not less, concerned about Jo's suggestion?. Jo has backtracked, which is good, and the BBC have taken this particular "joke" off the air, which is good too.
