Oh and just to emphasise, JC is not in power yet to do anything apart from occasionally commenting - which he has done - and once again few UK politicians have come out in support unlike JC and DA. Do I wish all MPs would come out daily and support the release and non-extradition of JA - of course I do - but I'm not going to be overly critical of JC and DA after they have actually been more supportive than most. Any Australian political leaders come out in support of JA their citizen? Comparisons with people in power is a poor measure of integrity. UK and Australian politicians could make Genghis Khan look good. As leader of the opposition Corbyn has a public pulpit and media access, assets he has mostly refused to use on behalf of Assange, apart from a couple of weak statements. On what basis do you say "occasionally commenting" is all he can do without being in power? Why not frequently comment? Why not cite Nils Melzer's damning report or the UN working group on arbitrary detention and condemn the UK government for violating international law and complicity in torture? Why not talk about the great public benefits of Wikileaks' work exposing government crimes and malfeasance and the threat to journalism and free speech worldwide his persecution poses? There are a hundred things he could say that would be more commensurate with the crimes being committed against Assange, and he's not saying them. What's he waiting for?
