Yeah... but Bernie Sanders didn't 'make a mistake' then and he's not going to repeat his 'mistake' this time. He's a 'Judas goat.'

Quoting Owen Jones as an eagel-eyed analyst of Labour's woes, makes me nervous.

The point is, surely, that Labour has never been a real 'worker's party' from the very beginning of its' existance. It was always a cooalition and basically controlled by middle-class liberal socialists who steered the party towards social democracy along the path of leat resistance.

Corbyn's biggest 'mistake' was not properly mobilising his base support properly and keeping the insurgency alive and moving forward. He was way too willing to compromise on way too many things for way too long. Compromise with the PLP who loathe him and the media who despise him. His priority seemed to be, above all else, and this really was a mistake, a desire to keep his beloved Labour Party together... at all costs, even if this meant castrating the very movement that put him in power!

The question is, if the left is going to understand or learn from this episode; the Corbyn experiment; is, did he, given the character of Westminster politics have a realistic alternative that would have been allowed to achieve a different result?
