Fair comment but for two things, and don't make it up with the BibiC yet!.. Archived Message

because a) the fires are in RUSSIA! and b)the fires are semi-natural and not like the fires that burn every day in our cities, vehicles and planes. I can't say that I remember anyone seriously talking about the California fires being provoked or worsened by CC, despite them going on for 10 months and accompanied by dreadful drought. It's also noticeable that no-one ever mentions climate change in the context of Australian bushfires, but they also set fire to the bush in winter for "fuel reduction" despite almost zero evidence that it reduces the spread or intensity of wild fires. People suffering from asthma don't like it, but the fireys never relent, while we pray for rain to stop their wretched vandalism. Regular burning also decimates the ecology, but no-one ever talks about that or admits it either... my two cent rant! BTW, if the Siberian peat burns then we are talking about a substantially different affair. (as happened in Indonesia a decade ago, causing an enormous spike in emissions.)
