Has anyone asked the Inuit people of Greenland what they want? Probably not. There are 56,000 people there.

Miles from the USA. I suppose it's about oil**, as usual.

I see they are there already, at Thule. Just like their base in the Chagos Islands and all over the planet, like a plague. The US has 800 bases in 70 countries and territories. Britain, France and Russia combined have 30!

** Greenland is believed by some geologists to have some of the world's largest remaining oil resources. ... U.S. Geological Survey found in 2001 that the waters off north-eastern Greenland, in the Greenland Sea north and south of the Arctic Circle, could contain up to 110 billion barrels (17×109 m3) of oil.

'The majority of its residents are Inuit, whose ancestors migrated from Alaska through Northern Canada, gradually settling across the island by the 13th century. Nowadays the population is largely concentrated on the southwest coast of the island while the rest of the island is underpopulated. Greenland is divided into five municipalities - Sermersooq, Kujalleq, Qeqertalik, Qeqqata, and Avannaata - and has two unincorporated area - the Northeast Greenland National Park and the Thule Air Base, administered by the United States Air Force.'
