Brexit under Johnson? I can't think of much worse. A comic clown, an eccentric duffer with well-crafted, stupid hair; his viciousness 'disarmed' by years of establishment liberals ho ho ho-ing about him on satirical quiz shows. He's no friend of the working class, nor is Farage, nor Rees-Mogg and yet, even in accepting Keith's 'it can't get any worse' argument, why do so many who should know better continue to champion them and their Brexit? Respecting democracy? Respecting the will of the people? Really? At whatever cost? Do not tactics change according to need? And if democracy, then why rubbish Corbyn when he is trying, at least on the face of it, to respect the will of the party? He's damned either way: ignore the will of the party; Stalinist. Respect the will of the party; traitor (an illustration of Derek Lane's selective love of democracy point) and surely Corbyn cannot accept, on political principle, a 'no deal' Brexit under Johnson. The best than can be hoped for, I guess (short of getting rid of the lot of them), is Brexit (assuming it happens) followed by a general election and the dumping of the Tories.
