As I read Cook's Blog on a regular basis I'm aware of his most recent post - however, I remain highly cynical of the motives behind the Thunberg phenomenon and those who by association wish to profit - as Cook himself has detailed. As for the Thunburg's giving up a car, I've never owned a car and use public transport for all journeys, be they in Asia or Wales. Regrettably, and unlike the Thunburg's, I don't have access to high speed sailing boats to journey back to Wales to visit my family, so am forced to fly. Obviously, if living in Wales with my little family, which is what I'd personally like to do, its actually possible to walk to both centres of commerce in my locality and use a taxi to get back home having done the shopping and the longest feasible journey out of necessity would be hospital visits, with both our General Hospitals being 7 miles and 10 miles away from the place I was born. Indeed, and up to the mid 80s everything one could want was available in our small town - its all changed now, one reason we actually have more than a Climate Crisis on our hands. Obviously, mentioning class irks you, or, allegedly I must have a chip on my shoulder, but here's some facts, the Thunberg's no doubt can afford private tutors for their kid so she can engage in her Climate activities, others are not so fortunate, particularly those living in quite poor countries, the very countries that will be impacted the most by rising global temps, or their resources exploited to enable all these Zero Carbon Green New Deals we are hearing so much about, and those pushing this path have been quick to hold Thunberg up as a poster child. So, and, do be honest, is Thunberg manufactured, or, is this a spontaneous event as with protests ongoing in France?
