That mere fact Bojo is Prime Minister shows once again that real life can surpass in fantasy the wildest products of satirical fiction. There is little to be said for him. But he was right about one thing. The humbugging pseudo-furore about how simple and indispensable military metaphors might Inflame our Discourse and encourage assassinations is part of a New Labour/Womans Hour conspiracy to drain “discourse” of colour, energy and conviction. Sticks and stones can break people’s bones. When the bones belonged to a pariah such as George Galloway not a single MP cared. The mildest words which supposedly hurt the feelings of such Jess Philips are now a national emergency.
