One event was the UN press conference which I linked to here. The second event (the live feed I mentioned) took place at Columbia University last night, where Melzer spoke on panel alongside a fellow UN Rapporteur who lectures at Columbia (Agnes Callimard), as well as a lawyer for Chelsea Manning; an expert on the First Amendment and a third international/human rights lawyer. I listened to that in full. Poor video quality (especially at the start) but I was glad I persisted and listened to all remarks and Q&A. This is a fascinating, signature case - the key media case of the century, involving judiciary of four different states. Yet western media is dead silent on all of it, isn't that strange. I jotted some rough notes and will make a few bullet points and post them up here.
