remedies that can actually be done pretty easily, and which actually have some real chance of alleviating the situation. This together with a commonsensical estimate of the probable timescale of all the shifts that have now already been triggered, and are happening.
JM striking that essential realists' balance between accepting the reality of climate shift, accepting at the same time the contra-reality of shysters-on-the-make trying to make capital out of it; and also accepting that we - life on Earth - have been here before, frequently, both in much greater heat and much greater cold, yet we - the lifeweb - have survived and thriven again, every time so far,* after the crises were absorbed:
* Naturally, that 'so far' will come to an end eventually. But this latest of Earth's long, long series of - quite regular - state-shifts, 'snowball Earth' to 'sauna-jungle Earth', back and forth, doesn't seem likely to be the final terminator event. But we do like to think of ourselves as godlike creatures, so amazingly all-powerful that we're quite able to pull the sky down on ourselves, don't we Chicks?
