But no insider information or intuitions were needed, just simple logic. Sweden's out-of-the-blue reopening of a case built on such transparently fraudulent pretexts; their extradition demand for this non-crime; their refusal to interview him from the UK; their refusal to promise there would be no forward extradition; their past participation in US extreme rendition; all point to one overwhelming conclusion. It would have been a greater leap of logic to assume the US was not in the background pulling the strings and that Sweden was voluntarily making a mockery of its own legal system just for the fun of it. As to Jemima Khan I agree with Johnstone. She not only stopped supporting him, but joined the liberal chorus of mockery, comparing him to the founder of Scientology, Ron L Hubbard. The £20,000 she put towards his bail is probably chump change to her.
