I completely agree if what you are saying is that the physics of the past 100 years has been revolutionary - inspiringly so. Both the physics that is still only theoretical (string theory and beyond) and the physics of the past 100 years that has already been proven (Einstein, Schrodinger, Bohr, Pauli, Dirac, Feynman, etc).
What you seem to be referring to is typically known as "quantum mechanics" or "quantum field theory", and it has proven to be a stunningly accurate description of reality. And it is certainly still incomplete (eg there are no equations I am aware of for quantum gravity). But its not really very new, all the essentials were in place, I think, by the 1950s.
I just didn't realize this was what was being referred to as "new physics", I thought RhG was referring to something in just the past couple of years.
