I suspect that rather than for selfish and petty internal party reasons, Cameron provided the referendum to pull the rug out from under UKIP and it's 4,000,000 votes. "Labour, in fact, cannot be ‘reclaimed’, as it has always been a party of British capital; a social-imperialist party (socialist in words, imperialist in deeds), to use Lenin’s apt expression, recently adopted by Derby MP Chris Williams as he was ejected from its ranks after 44 years of painful service." If Corbyn is complicit in this, so is, amongst many others (Galloway, Benn, Skinner, Shore), Williamson, who supported the attack on Libya (although supposedly later regretted it), and so need to bemoan his loss or treatment.
