Yes a large number of them, but no means all, did collaborate with the Nazis, and that fact was used at the time to explain the deportations as a sort of collective punishment. I was surprised that none of the commentators actually pointed that out, especially as in way it could be argued that as they were very much a minority after the brutal Nazi occupation, outnumbered as they were by the victims of the Nazis, the deportation may have probably prevented a vengeful bloodbath. Anyhow, yes Craig Murray often has these sort of hypocritically intellectual, moral & even historical "lapses" that always are more Neocon than "Naive", as some try to excuse them to be. On the other-hand he sometimes does some excellent work, so a very strange sort of dissident, very good in parts, but very suspect in others parts, which is partly why I don't fully trust him.
