I've heard dubious tales about smart meters -- increasing bills for instance. Do others have experience of these infernal machines and what is the verdict? Also, the blurb says the meters give out low-level radio waves (lower than mobile phones) so they're perfectly safe, but as I don't have a mobile phone I want to resist this intrusion.
