The ref [1] says: [1] In a recent YouGov poll (November 2019), 34% of respondents opposed the use of the death penalty, 47% opposed its use in some circumstances, 12% supported the use of the death penalty and 7% don’t know. I couldn't find a link to the poll. They don't say what the question was - looks to me like they've presented non-committed as supporters. One could guess that 53% support the D/P but some of those could be caught in the vagueness of the question or the way Reprieve has mixed it.
