I love the way he encourages them to think.Archived Message

He offers a scenario and then asks who's in favour of that. Who doesn't agree. Caveat: Some of the following is probably just me carrying on thinking after the programme ended.
A lot of the programme was about the issue of entitlement.
Entitlement to Shopping. He introduced the idea of Amazon Pandemic Prime. Pretty much shop till u drop if you have paid enough.
Entitlement to limited medical resources. Who gets the respirator?
One guy thought the elderly had more right to the NHS resources as they had pretty much built it by investing in it all their lives.
Another guy shredded that by saying that that would imply that a newborn baby has the least right to those resources.
Would you take an elderly person off a respirator? And if it was your family member?
Assuming you would prioritise NHS staff for testing would you prioritise them (i.e. chuck some guy off a ventilator and give it to an nhs guy) if they become ill? Even if they have serious comorbidities and are unlikely to survive?
Would you allow an NHS doctor to jump the queue if he has special skills that will enable him later to maybe save the lives of others.
There was a bit on Surveillance and data collection. In other words, what freedoms would you give up to feel safe?
There was a very good Chinese woman who impressed me right through the programme - poked holes in many people's arguments - who in this instance was pretty much willing to allow the gov to do what it wanted.
