The fact that people aren't supposed to be evicted does not mean people cannot be evicted. The fact that we are educated often separates us from these people and their experiences. Many landlords are simply thugs who care little about the so called "law".

Many vulnerable people don't have the ability or the resources to resist being evicted. Even now. Especially now. Many of the charities who in "normal" times would have supported these people are themselves in trouble and crying out for funds.

A rent strike would be a great idea. Thanks for posting about it. But, like any protest where people resist in mass people need to able to take to the streets to show their solidarity. It's very difficult to resist the landlord on one's own. There's strength in numbers, as they say. But the numbers need to be visible. On the streets. And that's the problem right now. Bailiffs can do what they want when there's nobody watching.

If you hear any more, Ian, let us know.
