Regardless, people dying is not the only concern. Of major concern are young, otherwise healthy people like Dan who are being getting the virus, with various adverse effects being passed through to their colleagues and families. This virus seems to cause many different and serious effects. I've heard reports since yesterday of serious skin issues in children who get it. Until scientists and doctors understand how the virus acts in people who get it and how to contain the spread, it seems like physical distancing is a good preventive measure. Canadian governments, federal and provincial, have implemented many measures to help those who are adversely affected financially and in some cases, physically. Of course, some people are falling through the cracks but the gov't seems to be trying to identify them and get help to them. Very few countries have the resources or the desire to implement that level of assistance so I know that many many people must be suffering severe hardship through this pandemic.
