I'd be a bit more confident in an eventual vaccine if any of the already up-and-running vaccines Archived Message

against other strains of flu virus were impressively effective. They don't seem to be, though. Not that I ever use them myself, having found a simpler regimen which seems to have been a good - as in 100% effective - proofer against any cold or flu virus these past 20+ years... PS: It's being trialled here and there in frontline hospitals, apparently rather effectively. Odd that we never hear a whisper about that in the 'news' outfits, innit? You'd think there was no other approach than (proprietary, hyper-profitable) vaccines possible. I seem to remember a time long ago when publicly-funded researchers would develop useful new medicines which were then given to the world at cost price - or even free. And fraud in such research was virtually unheard of then. You'd think such things were no longer possible. Why is that, I wonder?
