I'm sorry to hear that SBS has been so corrupted, David. I remember watching it intensively when I went to Sydney in the late 1990s, and it was really excellent. However, in the early 2000s, one Shaun Brown---from NZ, I'm ashamed to point out---was appointed with the express aim of "modernizing" (i.e. commercializing and de-politicizing) the SBS.
Decisions like turning over this once excellent channel to VICE were almost inevitable. People like Brown don't care about television; that's why they are appointed.
