I haven't watched or listened for years- I even steer clear of the news site- don't need the ulcers! I got tired of all the London posh accents except on people you were meant to laugh at. It masquerades as an intelligent source of information whilst pushing a very classist agenda. I'd rather watch Netflix and YouTube clips for moving pictures and musical interest. It might be full of shit but it's not actively pushing an ideal unrelated to my experiences. Every now and again I'll hear the bbc radio at some place I'm working at, and the middle class attitudes and language of the commentators makes me leave the room. There is such a massive difference between the way they talk think and act; half the people I know would make more interesting radio just by cracking a beer and talking about what was on their mind.
But, if it works for others, go ahead. I'm not judging, just can't stand any of their content. Not since monkey and the kenny Everett show (was that bbc?).
I guess being sans television since 1993 just makes me less tolerant to white noise.
