It must have cost quite a bit over years. Good one for him and the local sponsor. I used to go diving about 250 km South of that. Can attest most of the terrain is roughly similar along that coast, bone dry except for the brief periods in March when all hell breaks loose from the mountains. Got caught in a wadi floods one March day/night, and got rescued by local Bedouins coming back from a hunt. 8 local people drowned in that instance. Very hospitable people. Got away by the skin of my teeth . Occasionally patches of mangroves permanently survive along the coast ... which are nice ecological spots for thriving seawater/freshwater habitats for all sorts of critters. Below the surface of the sea, along that same coast, the abundance of life is stunning. Took me back ...
