He comes across as beings a bit arrogant but is constantly being attacked - which came first? "If Raoult is so convinced of benefit that he has no equipoise ...this means he has such strong conviction that he considers it unethical to undertake a randomised blinded controlled trial then the next best thing would be to do a propensity score matched study in which he compares the outcome in cohorts of matched patients from other institutions not using his treatment." Someone else could do that based on the medical parameters in the group descriptions. If they are convinced they are so meaningless... Unless the condition of the patients is a mystery that only he can resolve, it's distractive and adhom to cite his behaviour to dismiss his results. The results are there and that's what HCQ combination advocates are pointing to.
