Why so people with money and power risk it all on Mickey Mouse crimes and nonce offences? The pleasures and perils of transgression seemed to be the answer. Given the amoral utilitarianism tha liberalism is based on, why wouldn't the rich and powerful dabble in the smorgasbord of moral crimes? I wouldn't put sexual abuse of children past any of the shower of shite in parliament either but we know that open-and-shut cases don't get investigated unless social outsiders are the perpetrators. Only a case that can withstand official sabotage can succeed but that means we have to be careful of someone being stitched up by the establishment for their own reasons.
