I actually think biodiversity loss or, rather, mass extinction of species is the real issue. Climate change is a major feeder. Habitat loss is probably the main feeder. Habitat loss also means wild populations are pushed into closer proximity to human populations, making viral/bacterial cross-species transfers more likely. Then, human population density and ease of transport does the rest. Regarding CC, we are not talking about prevention any more. It's already happening. We are talking about mitigation and adaptation. The average environmentalist is still into stopping airport expansions. If you say the bloody airport should be shut down, you are thought mad. Collapse is going to happen one way or another, anyway. All we can try to do is to ease the transition in order to reduce the inevitable suffering.
