Having now read the LRB particle, I thought it very informative. Meanwhile they don't seem to be aware of the LNG infrastructure here and in Norway.
2005, Ineos acquired Grangemouth near me with plans to run the plant on US LNG. Since then they have created a transatlantic fleet and terminal network at a pretty astonishing speed. in 2017 it bought the Forties pipework network.( delivers 40% of UK North Sea oil and gas output). The Norway terminal takes advantage of pre-existing pipe networks to Europe... A couple of months ago Ineos also bought up BP's global petrochemicals business for $5 billion.
Nothing like eye-witness reports : ). I forgot about Ineos buying up Forties.
Still, Merkel will be at the helm until Sept 2021 and NS 2 should be completed by end of the this year ish. Perhaps she is just making the right noises about Navalny to keep Pompeo at bay. Spinning it. At the end of the day German terminal for NS 2 is in her constituency (although the port receiving the gas is threatened by US sanctions).
