Hadn't thought of that Keith. Thanks.

I knew I was being lied to. I have a nose for it these days. They do not have enough staff to do the job they charge for. It was 192pa for service and breakdown cover. Now 210pa.

'Centrica, the owner of British Gas, is to cut 5,000 jobs this year to "arrest the decline" of the company. The company has been losing customers to rivals and, in February, blamed a big loss in 2019 on the energy price cap and falling gas prices.'

British Gas owner Centrica to cut 5,000 jobs - BBC News

'British Gas tells thousands of workers to 'sign new contracts or lose their jobs'
Centrica has already outlined 5,000 job cuts as a knock on effect of the pandemic, with new customer numbers also falling in recent years. Now, workers have entered talks with the GMB union.'

Not a happy ship but the 'Captain' is doing nicely. He was well named 'Conn'.

Centrica boss gets 44% pay rise after 'challenging year' - The chief executive of the company which owns British Gas received a 44% rise in his pay last year to 2.4m. It means Iain Conn, who runs Centrica, is paid 72 times that of an employee in the lower quartile of its salary range - a smart energy expert paid 33,718.

What a load of crooks and he's gone.

'British Gas owner Centrica appoints its finance director Chris O'Shea as new boss
O'Shea had already temporarily taken over from chief executive Iain Conn
He will be paid 775,000 per year, compared to Conn's 953,000 last year
He has agreed to take a 100,000 pay cut due to the coronavirus outbreak.
