.. at least to me. Batiushka is an Orthodox priest or pastor, so inclusion of faith in his narrative is a given. Being an atheist, I just shrug my shoulders and think about squirrels. It really depends on ‘their’ insistence before I start pushing back. I also agree that patriotism is meaningless in the first world in the west. In a way, it is similar to faith in these countries, delusional imo. However, patriotism in the second and third world can have certain legitimate meaning. First, if attacked by the first world, it can be a rallying call to defending common shared values and the way of life for the population. In other words, you don’t just roll over and let the first world take what it wants, since, at the end of the day that may usually involve the destruction of these countries and slavery to west. Agree that Batiushka can be reactionary – his views come with that territory. I take what I want from what he says etc. I would not post his particles on TLN for reasons as stated above. It’s similar with Anrei (The Saker) if you listen to his views about internal domestic politics (in the US) you will note he is a prime example of someone that is reactionary. I’d vote for discernment and horses for courses. From that perspective, I agree with focus.
