Brandolini's law, also known as the bullshit asymmetry principle, is an internet adage that emphasizes the difficulty of debunking false, facetious, or otherwise misleading information: "The amount of energy needed to refute bullshit is an order of magnitude larger than to produce it." Ofcom just needed to make it up as they went along. -Maybe that could be another angle Ian: ask them to provide examples of what they actually consider "good practice" enabling all media output to actually be compared: that might put the wind up them.
