The quality of this discussion, the contrast, is so far above, removed from, base, crass, brainless, war propaganda; that passes for debate about events in Ukraine in our media is striking. It's unthinkable that it could appear anywhere else but here. Not in the Guardian or the BBC, not now. What we're subjected to is pro-Ukrainian war propaganda, not because we give a flying #### about Ukraine, but because of how much damage the conflict does to Russia. The object is to destroy Russia, and if Ukraine is destroyed in the process, well, that's a price we're prepared to pay! Only, of course, it's the dead in Ukraine that will do the paying, unless we are drawn ito the war too. This is the exact opposite of what appears, or is allowed, in our media and political discussion, where dissent and criticism has been totally marginalized. It's very sad and very dangerous.
