Petro is very much of an academic. Probably more so that Glenn. I detected both Mercouris and Glenn were frustrated at the pace of him laying out his goods. Me too. Although he touched on some interesting aspects and theories of nationalism and nation building, East Galicia and Volhnya massacres in the 40's were never mentioned as such. Why is that important? Well, imo one way would be to completely separate this piece of land from Ukraine and cauterise the infection. The other aspect one should consider is the make up of all regions in Ukraine where there was Polish influence, especially during Polish Lithuanian Commonwealth Empire time. In essence, Polish landowners/aristocrats ruled the roost, the Ukies were the peasants working the land and the Jews were acting as agents of the aristos collecting the taxes. Of course there were other social elements as one moves down South of Ukr e.g. Cossacks, either Don or Zaporozhye types, some of these flip-flopping between the Russian Empire and Polish alliance. I tried to get Petro's book to see if he discusses this but had no luck (and I was not going to pay $100 odd at Amazon). https://npetro.net/ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nicolai_N._Petro
