I think you can reliably say that any figures about casualties on either side will be doctored. or kept as secret as possible. That huge numbers of deaths will be reported as "missing", or not reported at all, for example. We know that Urdula van der laden let slip several months ago that Ukraine had suffered 100,000 casualties, so it'll be much higher now. The way she was quickly silenced shows that the figures were likely accurate. Zelensky confirmed the figures area a state secret and was angry at the revelation. .In regard to Russian casualties I believe they are much higher than Col McGregor says - ten to one just sounds impossibly low I believe he is deceiving himself, and several of the other more pro Russian commentators like the Duran, Mercouris, Berietic etc are guilty of underplaying Russian casualties. I don't believe Russian casualties are anything like 200,000 but I wouldn't be surprised if they're around 100,000 - you don't fight wars of attrition without suffering heavy causalities yourself. Look to the First WW for an example. General Milley has suggested recently that causalities on each side exceed 100,000. We do not known any estimates of dead and seriously wounded. Russia can't escape the consequences of its invasion on its own forces, and NATO has been very successful in supplying sufficient armaments and intelligence to allow Ukraine to muster a very effective resistance, much more than Russia would have expected. The effect of NATO's success has been merely to make this war several times as murderous as it would have otherwise been. (and of course helping to precipitate this war in the first place) but not altering the likely Russian achievement of its goals in regard to the Donbas, Crimea and demilitarising Ukraine.
