Sorry dude - I meant to post a timestamp but forgot (it did say near the end) - yeah the accent was a bit unnecessary - like I said vanilla takes - but dugin's writings were on screen (I find all that history stuff fascinating myself so I enjoyed watching it all again).
I was never actually referring to the article you posted mate - it certainly wasn't intended as shade to you, just the author (classic ad hominem if you like) - which was exactly what I did to the doug Murray post above (hence why I posted that I might have done the same under your dugin post - ie do a one liner ad hominem (well it's not an ad hominem if I'm not arguing with the post, just a normal insult ). As I said in the old post I've read some stuff I agreed with in the past from dugin, so I certainly wasn't saying your post couldn't have interesting stuff in it (I'd assume it did if you posted it - I will go and read it in a bit I promise ).
In practice though I can't read every article I come across, so I do discriminate - call me old fashioned but I probably discriminate most against self described conservatives, reactionaries, (arguably) fascists and racists (spirit or otherwise) like Murray and dugin, and might not bother reading them (though I'm maybe more likely to skim dugin's writing as I've definitely heard enough from Murray). As a rule of thumb, when I think a person's ideas are batty in one area, it makes me less inclined to listen to what they say elsewhere. Don't get me wrong, I like a bit of mysticism as much as the next hippy, but not so much the Blavatsky-based, aryan-bigging up, racist/nazi-inspiring stuff, or anything like evola, and dugin's burbling just sound like that stuff to me - maybe I've got him wrong, it's very possible.
