"If you don't think toxic masculinity exists..."

Its a derogatory pop-psychology catch-all title given to anyone exhibiting anything that might be labelled "Male" behaviour generally by middle class people who often dislike all kinds/ any kind of male behaviour: most especially amongst the working class.
A term therefore worthless in application outside media-feminist discourse.

I've met many masculine oft violent psychopathic arseholes in my life (coming from the bottom of that social pyramid it's somewhat inevitable...) but they don't promote a "culture" in the broader sense (apart from drug culture...) and are remarkably enough often partnered by women who display what could be called (but isn't...funny that) an equally "toxic femininity".

"it's a bit more varied than that, but generally it's not that they lack empathy, but maybe they have difficulty expressing it, which is very different (for them anyway)..."

Well it was a sentence not an analysis. I think it would be fair to say there's a very strong tendency for autistic people to emotionally short-circuit. If you have any experience at all you will know what I mean.

"When talking about autism, i've been told (i had a recent 'training' session about this fwiw) that multiple 'conditions' are the norm not the exception (i can't remember the wording they used) - so if a person is autistic they are very likely to have other issues (dyslexia/dyspraxia, various mental health issues etc) - this could extend to issues regarding differing gender identities too..."

Yes: multiple conditions are indeed the norm and not the exception but in my view the gender identity thing is more to do with autistic people taking whats being offered to them: as I said many are "struggling to find a path" or means of understanding themselves and indeed where they find themselves in the world.
-Unfortunately I really don't think introducing autistic people to an entirely subjective belief system that claims there are "genders" which can be the opposite of biological realities is at all helpful to their plight.
