"... is in reality something far worse for them, it's heresy. Indeed." People were burned to death, fought religious wars and thousands died simply because it was heretical to deny that bread and wine turned physically and not symbolically into the flesh and blood of Christ. Today people can believe in "transubstantiation" if they wish, but the principle fought and the consequence was that you cannot insist under the power of law that other people recognize bread and wine to be actual flesh and blood. SO... we are beyond all that right? done and dusted...long, em..time ago...so we thought. Now we are not asked but told to believe in another unlikely "transubstantiation": that a man in a dress is an actual physical woman because, well, "they say so". I have no problem if they want to believe some form of "transubstantiation": it's pretty much exactly the same thing give or take a god or so as Roman Catholics chose to believe, but if in either case someone wants to use law to force me to believe it then that's another thing altogether. -Whatever pretext is used in law it effectively will be a heresy charge.
