CM revealing his limitations... I thought Obama had finally toxified the words 'hope' and 'change' beyond remedy but here is Craig stressing their importance again. Apparently he doesn't realise that the establishment is currently failing in its job of controlling the populace, because a key part of this is offering false hope via the tightly controlled electoral process. Arguably they shot themselves in the foot by going after Corbyn so strongly when he could have been made to dance to their tune and guide the energy of thousands into harmless reformism on issues that fundamentally don't matter. He showed himself to be plenty malleable after all...
Giving people hope is the worst thing that could happen right now IMO, as the hopelessness Murray laments provides the ideal growing conditions for movements for change outside of the utterly domesticated official channels. Hope keeps people invested in the system and stops them from seeing its true nature, rebelling against it and creating a new society worthy of the name. For sure there are the dangers of fascism and extreme selfishness to contend with in this scenario, but really it seems like we're there already with the way things have gone in this country over the last 1/2 century, so ... what is there to lose?
Also, he prefers the english greens to the scottish ones, but at least the latter have held on to their anti-NATO stance, unlike the former. I think they might be the only ones left, unless Plaid are opposed...
