Valid points. I wonder though, how, given all his years in the Labour Party, how could have been so 'naive'. What about gross incompetence? Supposedly, he never wanted the job in the first place. It was an accident. He was only allowed on the ticket 'for fun', only the Party hadn't taken into account how much the grass roots hated the MPs and what they stood for.
Corbyn's biggest failure was that he didn't really want to destroy the old Labour Party in order to build something new. Let's face it, he's no intellectual or master strategist, with outstanding leadership qualities. Then, of course, he should have surrounded himself with people who were. Only the left in Labour doesn't have charismatic leaders, because the structure of the Party, a carefully managed political power pyramid, makes sure that radicals get nowhere. This fundamental truth seems lost on Corbyn and the people around him and the left in general. Lacking this kind of power analysis is a disaster, because, when they did get into power in the Party, they had no idea what to do with it, the power that had been handed to them.
