Gosh. This brings back memories of University, back when dinosaurs ruled the world. I thought it was laughable and a joke, and being young and naive I imagined everyone else thought so too, expecially the Dons. I mean it was obvious it was all political dogma tarted-up as 'economic theory', but was really about stealing the wealth of the 'working class' and giving it to the rich, which, in the long run would prove disasterous for society and the economy. I was particularly incensed by the mega-vadalism of ruining and de-industrialising vast swathes of the real economy, centuries of development flush down the toilet!

Then the 'economics' of the coalmines, where the money used to bring the Miners to heel, was a massive waste in the servive of a class war, with a crazed government determined to destroy the organised working class, at any cost! Imagine if those resources had been used to modernise the coal industry instead. The National Coal Board had a superb research dept. which had been workiing on clean coal tech and linked it to how Britain's housing stock could be modernised and insulated to save energy and coal.

Sorry, I'm getting carried away, as the years fall away suddenly. What a ####ing destructive waste it all was.
