Don't get me started on 1984 and the Miners Strike!
Scargill wasn't perfect. I think the biggest mistake was imagining, hoping that the Miners could drag or push the rest of the Unions into supporting them. At the time, on the picket lines I voiced the opinion that Scargill was leading the Miners into a battle on a battlefield which the Government had chosen and prepared for, for years. Was that wise? I dunno, maybe they didn't have a choice. Funny how Scargill has been cancelled.
